Thunderbird is the inception of Indian motorcycle cruising. Debuted in 2000, the Thunderbird added one more category machines to RE family. The first generation Thunderbird motorbikes were powered by AVL lean burn engines, which were coupled with 5 speed gear transmission. Later in 2009, the engine got replaced with a 346cc, Unit Construction Engine. Along with it, the bike got renamed to Thunderbird Twinspark as it was coupled with twin sparkplugs and RE stopped the production of first generation Thunderbird.
