Fazer Version 1 is a semi faired motorcycle from Yamaha, launched in the year 2009. Moreover, Fazer is said to be the combination of two motorcycles. The front fascia of Fazer resembles the popular Yamaha R15 and the rear portion adopts the features from Yamaha FZ.
This motorcycle is powered by the same 153cc, 4-stroke engine found in the FZ, which is capable of delivering 14 bhp of maximum power @ 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.6 Nm @ 6000 rpm. Engine is then mated with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. This engine is famous for its smooth and vibration free working condition in FZ and in the Fazer as well. The chassis is built using a diamond type frame. Front suspension consists of a telescopic forks and rear uses monocross suspension system. The stopping force of this bike relies on a 267 mm front disc brake and 130 mm rear drum brake. Both the alloy wheels features tubeless, radial tyres.
The fairing of this bike is well designed with a mass centralisation concept. It helps in achieving straight line stability of the motorcycle. The seat height of Fazer is 790 mm, which gives a prime control over the bike. Instrument console of the Fazer features digital speedometer, fuel gauge, tachometer and a tripmeter. Its multi-reflector headlight provides an efficient night vision.
This 141 kg motorcycle can hit a top speed of 124 kmph in a straight stretch. It has a 12 litre fuel tank with a reserve capacity of 1.20 litres. Overall mileage of this bike is around 40 kmpl. Fazer is available in 3 paint jobs.
