Complete details of Explorer Motorcycle

Explorer is not in production now.

Royal Enfield Explorer was made in 1980 with the collaboration of German bike maker Zundapp. Like the Fury 175, this model was also built in small volumes. The Enfield Explorer was powered by 49cc, 2-stroke, air-cooled engine mated with 3-speed manual gearbox. Even though it is a 50cc motorcycle, the Explorer had a top speed of 60 kmph.

The motorcycle is constructed on a central tubular frame which uses telescopic forks with hydraulically damped coils at the front and swing arm suspension at the rear. It gets internally expanding brakes with a drum diameter of 120 mm at both the ends. The explorer was very well known for it fuel efficiency on those days. It had an average mileage of 65 to 75 kmpl on city traffic and even recorded 90kmpl for a constant 30 kmph cruising.
