Seen this vehicle in Trivandrum during 1986. But, I learned bike riding in 1979 December Christmas day night on its predecessor YEZDI 60 CC introduced in market by Ideal Jawa Pvt. Ltd., Mysore in the year 1975. I has kickstarter on its RHS kicking in front direction. Foot gear shift lever on its LHS. It has two sets of foot pegs; one set for the rider; the other foldable for the pillion rider. Not provided with shock absorber at rear; but having one pair of coil spring (not visible from outside as covered by its body/body panel.Front suspension was also coil sprong with grease lubrication. Rear brake with Cable similar to jawa with slight difference in mechanism. Since, it has no pucca suspension as on these days, riding on it was jerky in rough roads. The brake system was not so reliable. Its electrical power was of 6 Volt. But the head light was having high beam brighter than 250 CC Jawa of that time. Its head light bulb was original Czechoslovakian. It was nicknamed as "Kazhutha Jawa" (Kazhutha means donkey) in Kerala and "Karadi Jawa " (Karadi means bear) in Coimbatore area.It was having high climbing ability. Eventhough, itc cc is low, it has amazing power. It could carry threegrown up peoples very easily. It was giving near about 50 km per litre of petrol during those days. Its tyre size was 2.50 x 16 the same that is being used by TVS 50. Its wheels were inter changeable due to this peculiarity. Rear swing arm was rectangular in section. Its rear ratchet wheel was having bigger diameter and hence its load carrying capacity was very high. Contact breaker points are very similar to Jawa.It was having fuel tank rusting problems and hence difficulties of choking carburetor. There was overflow problems of carburetor.Carburetor was provided with tickler.I rode the Yezdi 60 CC owned my father ( Sri.T.G. Ponnappan, Assistant Engineer in KSEB during the time; vehicle Reg. No. KLA 6598) to attend my final year last day in Polytechnic College, Pandalam, Alappuzha District, Kerala (30th April 1982) since, I was late to catch the bus as I have to complete some drawing assignments on or before the last class day. I am very fond of this vehicle, as it was very difficult to put 1st gear and start moving without stalling which was very difficult rather than any other two wheelers available during those days as its clutch lever is bit tougher. If this vehicle is reincarnated as 4 stroke, it would be better then TVS 50 or 80.
