While changes are incremental, the one that stands out the most is a redesigned seat claimed to improve the comfort. The relaxed riding position and 30.3inch seat height remain the same. The 2016 Diavel Carbon sees a few tweaks to its exhaust, new features including Zirotec creamic coating on the exhaust manifolds and stainless steel silencer covers with a brushed-steel effect. The tubular steel trellis frame is painted in a Dark Chrome and the Marchesini 10-spoke forged wheels have machined highlights. To complement the carbon fiber, the 2016 Diavel Carbon is slathered in an Asphalt Grey paint, but is also available in a Dark Stealth version with a matte black tank, black frame and wheels.
The latest Diavel Carbon is offered with three different trim packages, Sport, Touring and Urban. The Sport pack includes a carbon rear mudguard, carbon fiber instrument and headlamp covers, billet aluminium brake and clutch fluid caps and a rear brake fluid cover. The touring pack has the addition of a set of panniers, a back rest and a Plexiglass windshield. In Urban form, the pack features lightweight forged aluminium wheels, racing billet aluminium foot-pegs, a carbon fuel tank protector and billet aluminium frame plugs, front sprocket casing and clutch casing cover.
With its 162hp and colossal96lb-ft of torque, the Diavel Testastretta 11 degree DS engine defines authentic Ducati Desmodromic performance. Thanks to the dual spark plugs, high-compression pistons and revised injection spray targeting, the engine's torque curve is strong and smooth at low rpm and remains so through a wide rev-range. The engine output is managed by Ducati's Ride-by-Wire system to ensure effortless ridability, with plenty of power on tap also for high rpm riding. The oversized exhaust pipes with 58mm cross-section are part of a system which has been redesigned to maximize power and improve the efficiency and distribution of the Diavel. The system is equipped with a lambda probe for each individual cylinder, in order for the fuel injection to be optimized and managed autonomously via the large airbox. The vertically stacked cannon silencers are equipped with catalytic convertors that ensure compliance with Euro 3 standards, while the electronically controlled adjustment valve optimizes exhaust pressure. The exhaust system is enhanced by the manifolds, treated with black ceramic Zicrotec and the silencers, with a brushed steel outer cover.
No details on the pricing and concerned matters, but all details with the availability should be available sometime early in 2016.
A redesigned seat, tweaks to its exhaust, plenty of carbon fiber bits, new paint and trim highlight.
