Introduced in 1999, Yamaha YZF-R6 is the world's first 600 cc production motorcycle. R6 is the Yamaha's top selling sports bike model, which is evolved from their flagship model YZF-R1. Yamaha R6 has a good track record in motorsporting. Styling of R6 suits for both on and off track day sessions. It can be used as a regular day to day motorcycle, as well as a performance oriented sports bike. This motorcycle was revised in 2001,2003,2006,2008 and 2017 years. The R&D team has developed a powerful 600cc engine throughout these years. The 1999 model featured a 599.8 cc engine capable of producing 95 horse power @ 12,500 rpm and 57.2 Nm torque @ 10,900 rpm. Yamaha upgraded this same engine in 2001 to produce a fair amount 118.3 bhp @13,000 rpm while maximum torque of the bike remains unchanged. In 2003 and 2006 the brake horse power of R6 jumped to 121.4 bhp and 131.2 bhp respectively. There is any notable changes for torque during these upgradation. Yamaha used the same fuel tank for R6 and the fuel economy of the bike rather remains the same. The 2008 model R6 featured a 599.4 cc engine with titanium valves producing 13.6 bhp raw power @ 14,500 rpm with direct air induction.
The revived 2017 version is equipped with 6 speed gear box, mated with a 599 cc, liquid cooled, four cylinder, four stroke engine with DOHC system. 2017 Yamaha R6 has a stunning style feature adopted from their Moto GP sibling M1. The new painting scheme also shows the racing heritage of the vehicle. The 1,60,000 units all over the world itself shows how unique this motorcycle is and how special this Yamaha is.

Among the 600cc segment, Yamaha R6 is one of the best, it has loud exhaust screaming up to 11000 rpm. It moves fast and some says it's easy in handling and looks pretty smart and sexy, the fairing is one that caught the eye of a person. So,i too want one piece of R6, but can't find in India.. Why isn't it imported in India for Sale?? So please, am requesting the Yamaha dealer in India to import R6 too..
