Versys-X-300 is a small adventure tourer motorcycle from Kawasaki. The Versys-X-300 is the latest addition to this segment after the much popular adventure tourers like the Versys 650 and Versys 1000. The Versys-X-300 is introduced to fill the gap in the Versys segment and is also made to attract young riders to the adventure tourer segment. The Kawasaki has followed a sleek and slim bodywork to this little adventure bike, the compact body shape is matched with authentic Kawasaki styling and gives the Versys-X-300 a true adventure packed motorcycle.
What anyone notices at first in this adventure tourer motorcycle is the suspension with long travel and spoke wheels. The Versys-X-300 is the only motorcycle in the Versys segment to have spoken wheels, and Kawasaki is aimed to make it a very less maintenance motorcycle.
In the heart of the Versys-X-300 is a 296 cc Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke Parallel Twin engine which has been taken from the iconic Ninja 300. The power figures are almost the same as the baby Ninja, but Kawasaki must have tweaked the engine to have more adventure capabilities also, and the X-300 produces a maximum power of 40 PS @ 11,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 25.7 Nm @ 10,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The chassis of the Versys-X-300 comes with a Backbone, high-tensile steel. The suspension duties are performed with 41 mm telescopic fork at the front and a Bottom-Link Uni-Trak, gas-charged shock and adjustable preload suspension at the rear. This adventure tourer has a ground clearance of 180 mm. The fuel capacity is 17 litres and the seat height is 845 mm.
Overall, this small adventure tourer is something anyone could lay their hand on, owing to the low-cost maintenance and long travel suspension, the Versys-X-300 is a good adventure tourer motorcycle that could be used to explore mountainous, valleys and as well as highspeed cruising along highways.
