At last the final whistle got howled! The KTM 1290 Super Duke R has been unofficially unleashed at the home town, Mattighofen in Austria. The King of the naked machines, the 1290 Super Duke R was unveiled to the US dealers in a private meeting. However, the pricing of the machine is still uncertain.
Astonishing the whole motorcycle world, KTM unveiled a prototype of the 1290 Super Duke R, in November 2012, at Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA). The entire racing bi-wheeler universe got stunned at the mechanism and design of the KTM engineers.
The unofficially launched 1290 Super Duke R comes in two shades- one in traditional orange-white color and the other in the Patriot Edition.
The Patriot Edition might be a special version only for the US customers. It is designed very uniquely and is shaded with the American flag on the side panels. Accordingly, white, blue, and red colors are painted. As seen on the fuel tank, stars are seen on the alloy wheels which are shaded white and blue just to cope-up with the National Flag of the USA. While, the trellis frame just below the fuel tank is in blue color, and that of below the seat is of white shade.
The exhaust of the US Edition is also a different one. It's bigger in size. It's blacked and finished with chrome elements. The 1290 Superbike Duke R is equipped with a sporty split seat, which can accommodate a pillion rider. More importantly, a headlight is fixed to make night rides at the fullest. There is a couple of rear view mirrors as well.
The orange-white colored 1290 Super Duke R seems like a complete racing machine. It has no headlight. The exhaust is slim, in chrome finish, and placed slightly above. There are no mirrors attached to the handle bar. And to brand it as a genuine racing naked bike, it is mated with a single seat and is scribed "RACING" on both wheels in white lettering over the orange shade. It has the front trellis-frame in orange shade and the rear in white.
KTM 1290 Super Duke R is expected to be officially unveiled at the 2013 EICMA.
While unveiling the 1290 Super Duke R, the Austrian firm had also launched a video of the 1290 Super Duke R on Youtube. Reaching almost 7 lakh views, the clip is a huge hit. Here you have the stunning clip of the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
