Although, the Duke 390 is not a new machine to the motorcycle world, it's certainly a new baby to the Indian roads. The fanatics here are commoved to have a first look at the machine. KTM has already been reported fabulous comments over the Duke 390. So the same is expected here in India as well.

Bajaj Auto, which is the third biggest two-wheeler manufacturer of India is the sole distributor of KTM motorcycles. The company also distributes Kawasaki monsters across the country. So it was rumoured that Kawasaki was purposefully delaying the launch of the Duke 390. Because, the firm had to introduce the Japanese baby, the Ninja 300. Well, the Ninja 300 and the Duke 390 comes almost under the same class. So launching both machines at the same time would cause marketing issues for both firms. So Bajaj brilliantly delayed the Duke 390.
The Duke 390 follows the same design of its younger sibling the KTM Duke 200, which has been given a good response in the Indian market. Its heart is of a well refined 373.2cc, Single-cylinder, 4-stroke, spark-ignition engine, liquid-cooled engine, which delivers a gorgeous power of 44 Hp. It's engine is coupled with a 6-speed, claw shifted gear transmission.

The highlight of the bike will be ABS (Anti-Locking Brake System). It is expected that ABS will be optional. So you need to pay more to own the ABS version. Still, the motorcycle is very accurate with its single disc brake on each wheel. More impressively, the bike has class leading fuel efficiency of 30 kmpl, which is really unachieved by any two-wheeler in this class. So an entry level bike mingled with fuel efficiency is really gonna play outperforming in the Indian market.
However, we need to wait a bit longer to know about the pricing of the bike. Still, the Duke 390 is supposed to be priced Rs. 2.25 lakh ex-showroom.
