Indias fourth largest motorcycle manufacturer, TVS Motor Company unveiled its latest two wheeler, Phoenix at a dealers conference in Bangkok. Reports suggest that the Phoenix will be launched in India in October. The Phoenix comes under the commuter segment and likely to be priced around Rs.45,000.
Though TVS Motors had unveiled a 125cc two wheeler Radeon in the Delhi Auto Expo, the company didnt report any official regards on its launch. Instead of that, the consortium sets up its strategy with the Phoenix and the bike looks exactly like the Radeon. Since the festival season in India starts in the month of October, TVS aims a huge turn over with the launch of Phoenix.
The Phoenix is expected to come with a 125cc, four stroke single cylinder engine which is mated to deliver peak power of 10.5 PS and maximal torque of 10 Nm. Four speed gear transmission pays easiness in city drives. The Phoenix will the best commuter after the Victor series motorcycles from the home of TVS, assures TVS. Even though TVS launched many commuter motorcycles in the 100-125 cc segment, none could reach up to the expectations of the consortium.
On road, the Phoenix will have to compete with Hero Glamour, Honda Shine and Bajaj Discover 125.
