Alas the anticipation reached its very extension as Yamaha India officially announced that the much awaiting scooter Ray would be launched in the Indian Scooter market on 15th September. Without unveiling the price figure, Yamaha had started Rays booking a month ago. Customers are welcomed to book the Ray either by online or by walking into any nearest Yamaha showrooms. The booking amount of Ray is Rs.5000. However, there is a mere penalty of Rs.500 for those who withdraw booking.
Rumours suggest that the scooter Ray is mated with a powerful 4 Stroke, Single Cylinder, Air Cooled OHC, 125cc automatic engine.
The idea behind keeping the price tag enveloped is that, Yamaha India is uncertain about the value of its debut scooter, at a price the Ray is affordable to customers and a good competitor for its rivals simultaneously. And so, Yamaha has organized a contest in which anyone can predict the price of the Ray. Here Yamaha India goes by calculating an average figure suggested by the participants, the company can assume the right figure of the scooter at what the Ray could be easily sold out.
