Thunderbird 500 to be Launched Soon

Though officials are yet to fix a launching date of Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500, some rumours wind up that the Thunderbird 500 is gonna be launched by August-October. The Thunderbird 500 was introduced to public in the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo. At that time itself, the two wheeler gained a lot of awareness and publicity through media. However, an accurate date of launching hasn't decided by the company yet.

The Thunderbird 500 comes with several changes and alterations unlike the Thunderbird TS. The bike runs in Single Cylinder, 4 Stroke, OHV, SI Engine, Air cooled, and Keihin Electronic Fuel Injection engine. Vastly displaced 499cc engine is powered by maximum power of 27.2 bhp @ 5250 rpm and maximum torque of 41.3 Nm @ 4000 rpm. With a 5 speed transmission, Thunderbird 500 is smooth enough to throttle through cities and traffic jams.



It seems that the Thunderbird has been newly redesigned. The engine has been coloured in black so as to feel alike a premium cruiser. Of course, the new pattern attracts attention to the motorcycle. Then the separately mounted pillion seat, using a lock mechanism which can be operated through side panels is a real blessing to motor maniacs. The instrument cluster that includes two digital trip meters provide riders information on total trip mileage and intermediate mileage between tankfuls at a glance. The new headlight comes with a 55w projector lamp for its low beam and a 55W halogen bulb for the high beam.

The 280mm Disc brake, 2-Piston caliper at front and 240mm Disc brake, single Piston caliper at rear add more safety to the riders. Suspension provided by the telescopic 41mm forks, Stroke 130 mm at front and twin gas charged shock absorbers , 80mm stroke at rear explore more comfy to the rider. Fuel capacity of 20 litres acknowledges, the Thunderbird 500 not only as a short term rider but also as a long way runner. The top speed of Thunderbird 500 is 130 kmph.

The Thunderbird 500 will be available in 3 colours-matte black, arctic black and midnight black. The bike is expected to be priced at Rs.1.46 lakh.
