Hold your breath. It's confirmed after a long term of rumors that British iconic motorcycle brand is going to hit Indian motorcycle market by this November. The company has confirmed the coming through its official Indian Facebook fan page. Meanwhile, the firm has also appointed Mr. Vimal Sumbly as Managing Director of Triumph Motorcycles India.
"I'm delighted to have joined Triumph as the brand looks to embark on a well phased out strategy for the Indian market. Our commitment of developing truly iconic motorcycles that are distinctive in looks, design and performance remains ever-present. Soon Indian customers will be able to experience these category wining machines on Indian roads, as the brand looks to elevate the motorcycling paradigm," said Mr. Vimal.
Mr. Vimal, who was General Manager in Sales department at Bajaj Auto, comes with great hands of 16 years of experience in Automobile space. His experience and decisions will surely take Triumph to a good position in the premium motorcycle market in India.
Meanwhile, the firm is looking for dealerships across the country in metropolitan cities. Through that Triumph wants their customers to get in touch with its machines easily. Along with that a network of genuine parts, seamless after-sales services to authentic merchandise and accessories will be ensured to treat its valuable customers to the fullest.
The company will be assembling some of its models at the CKS plant at Manesar, in Haryana. This will reduce a lot in terms of duty tax and will be much attractive for the customers. However, the firm hasn't disclosed which all motorcycles will be assembled and which all will be lined up in India.
The arrival of Triumph Motorcycles will be a great challenge for the final luxury of motorcycling, Harley-Davidson. It's for sure that Triumph will be put on tempting price tags to attract those who are making way to HD stores.
"2013 is a very crucial year for Triumph Motorcycles in India and as a company, we are confident about the timing of our market entry. In the past few months, we have carefully assessed the market landscape and will be making well-honed efforts to provide our discerning customers with a complete brand experience," said Paul Stroud, Director Sales & Marketing (global).
