Piaggio has rolled out a new edition in their Vespa clan. A brand new model called Vespa RED has been launched in India, in association with the famous crowdfunding organization 'RED'. Vespa RED is priced at Rs 87009 ex-showroom Mumbai.

RED is an organization founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006 in order to help the HIV victimised people across the globe. The company has partnered with various brands around the world to raise money for the HIV tests and related services. Now, the RED has partnered with Vespa and will help by donating a fixed sum for every Vespa RED model sold in India.

Vespa RED is based on the company's best selling model Vespa VXL 125, which receives a special vibrant red theme on the body panels, seats and even on the rims. However, rear view mirrors and badging are decorated in chromium to enhance the premium feel of the scooter. The scooter is powered by 125cc mill offering a maximum power of 10 bhp and 10.6 Nm of peak torque. Vespa might bring the 150cc variant to this RED edition if demand for RED escalates in the Indian scenario. Interestingly, the Vespa is selling '946 RED Edition' in their US market.
