Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 and Svartpilen 701 Showcased at 2017 EICMA

The 2017 EICMA show from Milan has seen many breeds of motorcycles in various sizes and shapes. The famous Swedish motorcycle brand Husqvarna is known for their appealing models and they hadn't failed us at the EICMA festival with their Vitpilen 701 and Svartpilen 701. These 'Pilen' twins were first unveiled as a concept model in 2015 is now showcased as road legal production model at the event. Interestingly, it looks so similar to the concept models.



Both the motorcycles are powered by 692.7cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine found in the 701 SUPERMOTO. The engine here makes around 75 horses at its topmost power and 71.8 Nm of peak torque @ 6750 rpm which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame, Brembo disc brakes and advanced WP suspensions at both the ends. The minimalistic, bare-bone styling is the key element that makes Pilen twins a unique motorcycle. Both the bikes carry same retro-inspired styling with few additional features on the Svartpilen. It gets a different handlebar with more upright instrument console and all-purpose beefy tyres. Switchable ABS option can be found in both the models. According to some relevant sources, Vitpilen 701 is expected to hit the European market from mid-2018 along with younger siblings Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401. Moreover, KTM will be in charge of the India launch of brand in early 2019 or towards the end of 2018.
