This model features brand new 1103cc, 90-degree, V4 engine derived from the Desmosedici of MotoGP
The long wait is over. Finally, Ducati unveiled their much anticipated V4 Panigale ahead of the 2017 EICMA. It was unveiled at the pre-EICMA press conference held at Italy. The new V4 Panigale is the Ducati's first ever mass-produced motorcycle to feature four-cylinder engine adopted from the MotoGP Desmosedici. This four-cylinder monster is available in three different variables like Panigale V4, Panigale V4 S and Panigale V4 Speciale.
The new Panigale V4 marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Ducati's era. Earlier this year, the company has introduced Panigale R FE, which is the last model to feature the classic 1299cc Ducati powertrain. From now onwards the super sports division of the Ducati will be having 1103cc V4 engine. It is a close relative of the Ducati's MotoGP engine, developed in collaboration with the Ducati Corse. Here the makers have exploited the dynamics and technologies from the MotoGP variant to a road-legal, mass-produced unit to as close as possible to the GP.
This new Desmosedici Stradale 1103cc, 90-degree, V4 engine delivers a maximum power output of 214 bhp @ 13000 rpm and peak torque of 124 Nm @ 10000 rpm only coming around 175 kg. The V4 Panigale is studded with loads of advanced features like Ducati Quickshift Up & Down, Bosch EVO ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control EVO (DTC EVO), Ducati Slide Control (DSC), Auto tyre calibration, Riding modes and Power modes. Moreover, the Panigale V4 Speciale completes the package with Ducati Performance titanium racing exhaust by Akrapovic for 12 more horses to the mill. It comes in an exclusive livery similar to the Panigale R FE, which is limited to 1500 units only.
