Launched globally in May 2014. Yamaha YZF R25 is not yet available in India.
Yamaha YZF-R25 is the first quarter-litre class motorcycle from the Japanese bike builders. It was introduced in the year 2014. It is also considered as the lighter version of the 'R3' featuring all the design and physical components which are unique to the “R” family. It has inherited all the characteristics of R-DNA.
This motorcycle features a 249 cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine with DOHC system. It draws a maximum power of 36 PS @ 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.1 Nm @ 10,000 rpm from this engine. It uses a 6-speed manual gearbox for transmitting the power to the rear wheels. Like the R3, this bike also uses a diamond framework with a front telescopic suspension and rear monocross suspension.
The cosmetic department of this bike consists of an aggressive pair of dual 'predator look' styling headlamps at the front and supersport R1 inspired LED tail light at the rear, stylish multi-functional speedometer, anti slip split seats, aluminium cast wide wheels and a sporty and compact looking muffler.
The upgraded version of R25, the YZF-R3 is currently available in India, and the alternatives for this bike would be Honda CBR250RR, Suzuki GSX-25R and the Kawasaki Ninja 250.
