The Apache RTR 160 is a racing-inspired naked bike from TVS. The RTR 160 is the first bike launched by TVS in the Apache series. The RTR 160 has been a huge success for TVS when it got launched for the first time in India. At first look, the RTR 160 comes with Beast inspired LED headlamp with pilot lamps Sculpted instrument console with Carbon Fibre cuesSculpted seat and fuel tank. The bike has an aerodynamic razored engine cowl complemented with a stylish LED tail lamps.
Engine
The Apache RTR 160 comes equipped with a Singl cylinder 4 Stroke 159.7 cc engine that produces a maximum power output of 15.2 bhp @ 8500 rpm and a 13.1 Nm @ 4000 rpm.
The engine of the RTR 160 comes with good refinement and response, this makes it easier for the rider to enjoy the bike at all terrains. The power delivery is very smooth but the bike may start to vibrate when it reaches the higher rpm.
Chassis, Suspension & Braking
The RTR 160 uses a Double Cradle SynchroSTIFF chassis and this holds the motorcycle together. The Chassis is responsible for making the bike stable and comfortable to use eve at higher speds with much control and agility.
The suspension system of the RTR 160 comes with Telescopic Forks at the front and Monotube Inverted Gas-filled Shox (MIG) with spring aid as the rear suspension. The braking of the Apache 160 comes with 270 mm Petal Disc at the front and a 200 mm Petal Disc 130 mm/Drum Brake at the rear.
The braking of the RTR 160 is good enough to have a quick throttle around the city. But TVS should have upgraded the motorcycle to come up with ABS technology as a standard. The bike has a ground clearance of 165 mm and the bike comes with an overall weight of 137kg, which is very lightweight when compared to other motorcycles in the same class.

The RTR 160 is a good attempt from TVS, mainly due to its high-performance 160cc engine and lightweight design. The RTR 160 can be used as a commuter as well as for occasional long rides. The RTR 160 returns good engine performance but it can also give good mileage when it is ridden under economy range. Since this bike is very light in weight and also comes with electric start even old age people can drive this bike very easily and will serve as a good bike for normal commuting usees.
