First Impression Review
The Tiger XCX is a transcontinental adventure motorcycle from Triumph. The XCX is a more off-road biased version of the Tiger 800 than its XR models. The Tiger 800 XCX clearly sets the paths for serious riders and sits as a standard equipment under the more featured and well equipped XCA, which is basically the XCX with more rider-focused features. The XCX is packed with true adventure in mind and is fully equipped for long adventures and unexplored lands.
Triumph has made sure that the Xcx is full of rider focused technologies like 3 Riding Modes - Road, Off-Road, configurable Rider, Cruise control and an Advanced On-Board computer technology to make any journey a wail adventure at the same time improving the mechanical fronts like instant and responsive throttle map, ABS and Triumph Traction Control to make it a very robust motorcycle that will be a very easy to ride at same time very good at handling and manoeuvrability in any paths no matter what the roads are.
The Tiger 800 XCX has an off-road soul and much of this stance is emphasized on the various additions like handguards, aluminium sump guard, centre stand, additional power socket and engine protection bars. The inside of the Tiger 800 XCX has a very powerful 800cc Liquid-cooled, 12 valves, DOHC, in-line 3-cylinder engine that has the power to produce a maximum power of 95 PS @ 9,250 rpm and a maximum peak torque of 78 Nm @ 7,950 rpm. The big torque engine is mated to 6-speed gearbox and uses Multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection as its fuel system.
The Tiger is held by a very rigid and strong Tubular steel trellis frame, a Twin-sided, cast aluminium alloy made swing arm is also used. The suspension setup of the bike is done with WP 43 mm upside down forks, adjustable rebound and compression at the front with a travel of 220 mm while the rear suspension work is done with WP monoshock with hydraulically adjustable and has a travel of 215 mm. The braking system of the Tiger 800 is done with Twin 308 mm floating discs, Nissin 2-piston sliding calipers, while the rear brakes are done with Single 255 mm disc, Nissin single piston sliding caliper. Both the front and rear brakes are equipped with ABS for additional protection. The ABS system is switchable to make the most out of off-road fun.
Triumph is giving away the Tiger 800 XCX with a seat height of 840 - 860 mm, along with an option to choose a low seat height of a much less 790 - 810 mm for the convenience of riders of all height. The XCX has a fuel capacity of 19 L and thus allows for a good riding range. The dry weight of this adventure motorcycle is 204 kg.
