Bonneville Bobber was launched towards the end of 2016-17 fiscal year in India. This low slung Bonneville is based on the Bobber type motorcycles found in the 40s of America. It is one of the coolest looking motorcycle in the Triumph India line up, targeting the chopper markets of Harley Davidson. This has been stripped to its purest form to deliver all the hallmarks of a real bobber with clean lines, low stance, single seat, wide flat bars, minimal body work, wide rear wheel and hard tail look.
It is based on the famous 1200cc, twin-cylinder, liquid cooled engine found in the all new Bonneville T120. The mill delivers a maximum power of 77 PS @ 6100 rpm and a peak torque of 106 Nm @ 4000 rpm. Engine is mated with a 6-speed gearbox, which uses multi-plate assist clutch and chain for final drive. This massive engine uses a beautifully brushed stainless steel exhaust with twin skin slash cut peashooter silencers for the most enthralling note.
The engine sits on tubular steel cradle frame and the swing arm is constructed using twin-sided tubular steel. KYB 41 mm forks at the front and KYB monoshock with linkage on the rear side completes the suspension system. Stopping force of this motorcycle depends on the 310 mm disc brake with Nissin calipers at the front and 255 mm disc with Nissin calipers at the rear. ABS is used as a standard feature at both the ends. Moreover, the Bobber gets some of the most modern, advanced features like ABS, Switchable Traction control, Ride By Wire, Torque Assist Clutch, Immobilizer, Trip Computer and rear LED lights.
