Kawasaki R Edition is technically the same Z1000, but with some added R Edition styling elements.
The stunning Sugomi influenced design structure uses a new menacing colour and graphics, along with Brembo M50 calipers and Ohlins rear shock absorber which offers increased riding comfort to the riders. This high quality Brembo braking components are found in Ninja H2R, which adds the premiumness of the machine. Some cosmetic change of the bike, when compared to the original Z1000 is the presence of special frame pads with graphics and different paint scheme.

First Impression Review
The Z series are always made aggressive, raw and powerful. The Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition is one of stylish and powerful sports bike lineup from the company owning all the spirit of the lineup. The raw power and aggressive stance of the Z1000 R Edition are very commendable and the Sugomi influence of the bike makes it way over to the top of motorcycle that stands the test of time.
The Z1000 R Edition comes with a Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke In-Line Four-cylinder engine that has the capacity to produce a maximum power of 142 Ps @ 10,000 rpm and a maximum peak torque of 111 Nm @ 7,300 rpm. The big 1000 cc sporty engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Z1000 R Edition uses a Twin-tube, aluminium frame. The twin-tube frame is stiffer and ensures the bike to be very stable at higher speeds with very fewer vibrations. The front suspension of this sportbike uses 41 mm inverted fork with top-out springs, stepless compression and rebound damping and spring preload adjustability while the rear suspension comes with Horizontal Back-link, Öhlins S46DR1S gas-charged shock with rebound damping and remote spring preload adjustability.
The Ground clearance of the bike is 125 mm and the seat height of the bike is 815 mm. the braking system of the Z1000 R Edition comes with Dual semi-floating 310 mm Brembo discs. Caliper: Dual radial-mount, Brembo M50 monobloc, opposed 4-piston at the front while the rear braking system comes with Single 250 mm disc. Caliper: Single-piston. The Z1000 R Edition has a very good stopping power and this makes it easy to handle the bike around corners and streets with maximum stability and control. The fuel capacity of the bike is 17 litres which give the bike a very good range. Kawasaki has made the bike to be very light in weight and the overall weight of the bike comes at 221 kg.
