The XRE 300 is a dual-sport motorcycle made by the Japanese bike maker Honda, particularly for the Brazilian market. It is based on the model XR250 Tornado launched in 2009. The XRE 300 targets urban riders who wish to check some rough terrains often.
This semi-adventure bike uses 291cc, air-cooled, single cylinder, the four-stroke engine comes mated to 5-speed manual gearbox. The mill churns out a maximum power of 25.4 bhp @ 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 27.06 Nm @ 6000 rpm. XRE 300 is constructed around semi double crib chassis which also exhibits telescopic front fork and pro-link rear suspension. It also gets ABS system with the assistance of Honda's combined braking system.
It is available in standard XRE 300, XRE 300 Adventure and XRE 300 Rally variants. If it is launched in India, it could become the perfect alternative for Royal Enfield Himalayan.
