Recently Xiaomi has put their steps towards motoring world by introducing their first self balancing electric scooter named “Ninebot Mini”. This electric scooter was launched in MIJIA crowd funding event in China. Xiaomi had previously joined hands with many of the electric vehicles in China. But this scooter is said to be their own unique product bearing their brand name.

This Mi scooter is made with an aircraft grade aluminium alloy body, using a 280Wh LG 1850 EV-Lithium ion battery. It has a top speed of 25 kmph and uses an E-ABS with double disc braking for quick and smooth stopping of the scooter. Moreover this scooter uses KERS. Kinetic Energy Recovery System has been used in Formula One racing cars to charge the batteries by converting the kinetic energy of moving vehicle to an electrical energy while braking. In Ninebot, user can manage this using an app itself. Other than KERS, rider can take note of speed, battery life and health by using a smartphone via bluetooth.

Ninebot weighs only 12.5 kg and the portable folding design has made it very ease to get carried around. It can be folded and compress itself in 3 seconds, just with a press of a button.

Like all their products, Xiaomi has made Ninebot available in their global online store with a price of 499 USD. With the help of flash sale, company has gained widespread demand and market value in their smartphone and other gadget business. Now they are using the same strategy in selling Ninebot.
