Pune based Kinetic group locked hands and has made deals with the Italian superbike manufacturer. The Kinetic-MV Agusta tie-up is in talks of setting up showrooms in some of the major states in India, to exhibit their bikes and to achieve some aggressive sales and compete with the other superbike brands which are currently established in the Automotive market in India. The company started manufacturing small-displacement, cafe racer-style motorcycles through the 1950s and 60s. In 1960, small motorcycle sales declined and MV started producing larger displacement cycles in more limited quantities. A 250cc and later a 350cc twin were produced and a 600cc four-cylinder evolved in to a 750cc. The current international portfolio of MV Agusta consists of the Brutale, Rivale, Turismo Veloce, F3 and the F4 superbike. The motorcycles will be brought in as completely CBUs(Completely Built Units) and SKD(Semi-Knocked Down) units and would be sold at prices ranging from 12-33Lakhs(Prices are tentative).
This being a second shot at the Indian market, that too with its former partner itself the Kinetic group, which deals in mopeds and Kinetic scooters. However it won't be part of the Kinetic engineering of the Kinetic group. Bringing these superbikes in to the country, will be a luxury for those riders that demand the utmost performance from their machines. MV Agusta sportsbikes and superbikes are packed with high-end technology and race-derived electronics, which come together to offer an unbeatable blend of power, performance and handling. The style and sheer riding dynamics of these machines underline MV Agusta's tag-line 'Motorcycling Art' this indeed is and would be proved once in India.
MV Agusta F4
Even though these are a different genre of bikes altogether, with native players such as Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, Eicher and Mahindra already popular among the majority, it will be interesting to see how the new entrants would make their mark in the Indian automotive market.
