Hero May Launch Updated Xtreme

The upgrade might include body and engine.

India's largest two-wheeler firm, Hero MotoCorp, is likely to launch the face-lifted version of its best selling 150cc bike, the Xtreme. As it's only rumoured leak we are yet to confirm the news until Hero make their official words. Still, it's murmured that the firm is working on an updated motorcycle.

In 2011, Hero Honda (currently Hero MotoCorp) launched the existing and completely renovated bike, the CBZ Xtreme (currently Xtreme). Later in 2012 due to the parting, Hero branded the bike as Hero Xtreme replacing the tag, Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme. The Xtreme comes with a 149.2cc, Air cooled, 4 - stroke single cylinder OHC engine which is capable to produce a maximum power of (14.4 Ps @ 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 12.80 N m @ 6500 rpm. Its engine mated with a 5 speed gear transmission.

Hero CBZ Xtreme

It is indeed needed for Hero MotoCorp as far as its recent sales and reports are concerned. The firm hasn't introduced any new models after the launch the Passion X Pro. And upgrade other than slight graphics changes are hardly done to any bikes. Checking out the graph of Hero, it is revealed that the world's largest firm is doing worse business. It showcases negative growth month by month. In the other hand, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Private Limited (HMSI) and India Yamaha Motor Private Limited (IYM) are doing great business by launching new products in frequent times. Well, about HMSI its flooding new bi-wheelers from its plant. So attraction are higher for people to buy new products. And when it from Honda the least would be worries.

Hero Xtreme

Hero MotoCorp cetainly lacks new products in its garage. To continue its leadership in the market launching new products in regular interval of time is a must. Honda is doing the same. Yamaha is almost following the same criteria. Although Bajaj Auto does it the firm fails to dominate.

Other than the upgrade of the Xtreme, Hero might be introducing new motorcycles including a scooter. As it is already the second half of 2013, of course we can hope new machines from the world leader. The major headache Hero is facing today is that the company doesn't have a high-performing scooter to pull down Suzuki Access, Honda Activa, TVS Wego and Yamaha Ray. Though, Hero is doing some good business with the Pleasure and the Maestro, there aren't enough to stand top in its class. So, a scooter as soon as possible is a must for Hero.
