In a perseverance to defend its number one position in two wheeler industry, Hero Motocorp officially announced that it would open up a new Global Parts Centre(GPC) at Neemrana in Rajasthan. For that the company will be funding an initial investment of Rs.160 crore. The GPC is expected to commence functioning by the fiscal year 2013-14. The centre is plotted in a vast 35 acre land. The highly-mechanised, technologically-superior GPC will be a new milestone to the entire Indian motorcycle consortium.
"We will be setting-up a state-of-the-art Global Parts Centre spread over 35 acres at Neemrana with an initial investment of Rs 160 crore. The highly-mechanised, technologically-superior GPC will be a new industry benchmark once it becomes fully-operational. Now, as we embark on our ambitious global expansion plan, they are also going to play a significant role in this strategic move" said Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hero Motocorp, Mr. Pawan Munjal.
The GPC will be comprised of 4000 wagers and will be built in green building concept. Warehouse Management System (WMS) will be applying in order to work out on-line tracking.
In the last quarter, the Indian two wheeler industry witnessed a record sale apart from Hero Motocorp with a sale figure of 16.42 lakh units, a transparent 9.84% growth, when compared to last year's reports.
