"The 1.2 million capacity unit is coming up in the city's Narsapuram area," said Yadvinder Singh Guleria, HMSI's vice president and operating head-sales and marketing.

Honda is already engaged to produce 2.8 million units yearly from its plants at Manesar, in Haryana and at Alwar, in Rajasthan. And hence with the production of its third plant, the company could make a tally of 4 million units per year.

As indicated by Guleria, the company also thinks about research and development centre at Manesar. And it's expected to be operational by the month of October. This will reduce the delivery time of motorcycles to the customers, as all tests are to be conducted at Manesar R&D centre itself.

"The centre will cut down testing time for new models that we now send to Japan and Thailand," added Guleria. At present HMSI manufactures 3 scooters and 9 motorcycles in the Indian plants.
