Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI),the Indian subsidiary of Japanese biggie, Honda is now continuously reporting big improvement in their sales during the last few months.
Their growth started mainly after their split up with the Indian biggie, Hero MotoCorp. They got huge market especially with their two wheelers, Activa and Dio. The scooter segment was actually a dead segment in India.
The company realized the scope in this segment and they got clicked. The power and the efficiency these scooters give, really attracted the Indian youth and the middle class people also. This made all others company to think Honda's way and started launching scooters.
The company has become the third largest two-wheeler maker in the Indian market that stood at 1.34 crore units in 2011-12 by displacing the Chennai-based TVS Motor Company. They also made news when they displaced Bajaj for the no.2 spot in the March sales.
