The two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) which is on an aggressive expansion course post the split from Hero group has reported a massive 49.68 per cent jump in its total sales for March at 2,20,487 units compared to 1,47,301 units in the same month of 2011.
It was reported that for the entire 2011-12 fiscal, the company's total sales increased by 27.19 per cent to 21,07,228 units from 16,56,727 units in the previous fiscal. During March, motorcycle sales went up by 24.97 per cent to 82,353 units as against 65,899 units in March, 2011.
The company reported an increase of 69.69 per cent in scooter sales to 1,38,134 units last month from 81,402 units a year ago during the same month.
The reports stated that suring 2011-12, the company's motorcycles sales rose by 15.70 per cent to 8,66,457 units from 7,48,895 units in the previous fiscal. Scooters sales in the last fiscal stood at 12,40,771 units against 9,07,832 units in 2010-11, up 36.67 per cent.
