Its been quite a long period that, Ducati, the world famous bike manufacturing company was put on sale. But the fact is that, Ducati share holders are not yet able to find the right buyers yet. The three main contenders for buying this brand were BMW, Volkswagen and Indian giant Mahindra group.

Mahindra and Mahindra, the Indian auto giant, is not willing to take the ownership of Italian bike manufacturing company Ducati. Just a few days ago BMW announced that it is not interested in buying the stakes of Ducati. Recently Mahindra's disinterest in acquiring the Italian bike manufacturing company was also noticed.

After BMW declared its intentions, Mahindra also made its stand clear. Volkswagen has not come with any news regarding acquiring ownership of Ducati. In the initial stages, three companies, Volkswagen and BMW were shortlisted along with Mahindra and Mahindra as the potential buyers for Ducati.

Mahindra pulled back from the ownership as Engines Engineering also signed an agreement with Royal Enfield company for re- designing Royal Enfield engine. This was one the major reason that contributed to stake roll back. Mahindra and Mahindra has also shown some interest in buying SAAB, which is an Swedish car making company.
