KTM faces tough competition from Aprilia

KTM, the global brand from Austria in which the Indian biggie Bajaj has got the major share, is planning to get bigger and bigger in Indian two wheeler market with new launches. From India, there are no real threats for KTM.

Indian companies usually does not concentrate on that particular segment. But, another global biggie, Aprilia, will surely make the life tougher for KTM as they are also launching bikes in segments concentrated by KTM.

Aprilia RS4 125 is reckoned as a beginners bike for the Europeans, similarly KTM has Duke 125, but when launching in India, KTM planned for much more powered bike, so they came up with KTM Duke 200 for India. RS4 125 is all set to get new engine of 200cc from Piaggio, which will help Aprilia to compete with closest rival KTM.

At the moment Aprilia RS4 sale is very low, and the Aprilia RS4 company officials thought it is not viable for the company to have a separate showroom for Aprilia RS4, so they decided to sell their products through another Italian company Piaggio.
