Hyderabad Police To Seize Vehicles Without Insurance

The Cops will seize any vehicle that doesn't hold a valid third party insurance, and the citizens will be given a 15-day period to get a new one.

As per reports, the Hyderabad Police has now tightened up their search for vehicles that do not hold a valid third party insurance in the streets and city limits of the Cyberabad area. The Police has taken this issue a very top priority because of many complaints it received from the city lately.

Hyderabad To Seize Vehicle Insurance Without Insurance

The Cops will seize any vehicle that doesn't hold a valid third party insurance, and the citizens will be given a 15-day period to get a new insurance. The Cyberabad City Police Commissioner Sandeep Shandilya has issued a notification that stressed the importance of Section 146 of The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 which clearly and explicitly stated the need for third-party insurance on any vehicle on road.



The notification reads, "Section 146 of Motor Vehicle Act-1988 provides mandatory third-party insurance coverage for all the vehicles. Supreme Court committee on road safety, desired to periodically check the vehicles to see whether the vehicle owners have the third party insurance covered and in case they are not covered, the vehicle should be detained till such time the valid certificate is produced by the vehicle owner,"
