Yamaha plans to build their third plant in India

India Yamaha Motor which plans to invest of Rs 800-crore in the next two years on capacity enhancement and expects to sell around 10-lakh units by the year 2014. Because of this target they are building new plants.

Tamil Nadu or Karnataka is the states where this plant is expected to be build. "Setting up a third plant is under consideration. We are already looking for land in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu" India Yamaha Motor CEO and Managing Director, Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, said.



Company has not yet finalised or declared the amount of money that is going to be invested in this plant. India Yamaha Motors has manufactured 5.3-lakh units in 2011 out of which 1.9-lakh units were exported. During the year 2012, the company foresees to clock 4.5-lkah sales and 6.5-lakh units in 2013.

"With the launch of our scooter model in the second half of this year, we would be present across all growing two-wheeler segment" Mr. Suzuki said. Yamaha is concentrating on scooters also as they realised the fact that Indian scooter sales are on a high.
