Vespa launched by Piaggio group at Auto Expo 2012

The iconic brand of scooters, Vespa, is back in India after a long gap of 13 years. It is the Piaggio group which unveiled this Italian brand of scooters. This scooter, is expected to attract many Indians as the product is assured of giving great performance.

In India, the sale of scooters have recently reached new heights as the number of sales per year is going high. Both the youth and the middle class people are noe attracted to this kind of scooters. It might be this news which inspired the company to relaunch Vespa.



The Vespa which was launched in 1946 is considered as the first scooter and the product was able to gain big popularity around the globe. The product has got its presence in 100 countries and in India, Bajaj and later LML was their partners.

The model to roll-out in India will be the Vespa LX 125; however in India it would just be tagged as Vespa. The company has made the vision clear. The Vespa's target will be premium buyers and the company will slot the Vespa as a premium scooter in the luxury market.
