Honda to launch a 100 cc bike at Auto Expo 2012

The Delhi auto expo was always in news ever since the event was announced with a large number of new launches. And because of the auto expo, every company has become very hesitant in launching new products during festive occasions such as Christmas and new year.

The companies know the fact that the apt time for their launches will be the auto expo as they will be able to catch foreign customers also. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) too is looking forward to bring about its 100cc commuter bike in the upcoming expo.

Price of the bike, as suggested by the company, is not too high. It will lie somewhere around Rs. 45,000. "We will showcase a 100 cc bike at the Auto Expo in January and launch it next fiscal.", Mr. Shinji Aoyama, HMSI President and CEO says "Our target in the next decade is to be No.1 in India. For the first time, we will introduce a mass segment motorcycle in the 100cc category. It is the first priority for us."

The firm is planning to reach 21 lakh units sale this year. The scooter to be launched will be totally a localized one, although the product development will be done in Japan. This ultimately means, the scooter will be for Indian roads. And since it is coming from Honda's kitty, it sure will be worth a wait! The company is already running strong with around 1,220 outlets all over the country.
