Bajaj may Launch Pulsar 200NS in Indonesia

The Launch may take place this FY itself.

Bajaj Auto, India's third largest two-wheeler manufacturer is planning to foray into Indonesian motorcycle market. It has been rumoured that the flagship motorcycle of Bajaj, the Pulsar 200NS would be the first bike to hit in Indonesia. It is supposed that the Japanese motorcycle monster, Kawasaki would be helping Bajaj by providing outlets and all supports. No wonders, as Bajaj is the lone distributor of Kawasaki machines in India. So the business of Bajaj in Indonesia might be following the same pattern. However, the company officials haven't commented anything on this news.

It is expected that the launch of Pulsar 200NS will take place in this financial year itself. The Pulsar 200NS is mated with a 199.5cc, Type SOHC - 4V - Liquid Cooled engine. It is capable to produce maximum power of 23.52 PS @ 9500 rpm and maximum torque of 18.3 Nm @ 8000 rpm. It is wedded with a 6 speed gear transmission. The Pulsar is know for uniqueness and innovation. The all new Pulsar 200NS is also no different. It is the world's first motorcycle with 4-valve triple spark DTS-i engine. Speacilities are many of this machine. So, Bajaj has no doubt about the huge success of the 200NS in the Indonesian market.

Presently Bajaj has outlets in more than 50 countries outside India. The company is the market leader in motorcycles in Columbia, Central America, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Philippines, Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya. So the experience in the Global market would be a valued wealth for the company in expanding its dealership in a new country.

But the new strategy of Bajaj might be questioned as the company has lost its second position in the Indian two-wheeler market to Honda. So foraying into a foreign market instead of concentrating in India with more machines might be a wrong decision by the company. The major drawback of Bajaj is that the company doesn't have a scooter. It must be noted that the scooter class in the Indian market is increasing rapidly rather than the gradually moved motorcycle market. So, concentrating more in the Indian Industry by bring in at least couple of scooters, Bajaj can regain its lost position from Honda. We should remember that via Chetak Bajaj was once the only name for scooters in the country. And it is the same Pune based manufacturer existing in the industry without a scooter.
