"Words don,t matter much to us. Miles do. This is the way of the Brotherhood," quotes the theme of India Bike Week. That was miles for the Indian motorcycle enthusiasts when the largest motorcycle event in the country got flagged off in Goa, from February 2 to 3. When the motor-wheelers those looked extremely new and monstrous, the tourist destiny of India became a sovereignty of motorcyclism. It is precisely the maiden year of the celebration. The biking festival was organized by SEVENTY Event Media Group together with FOX Traveller in association with Harley Davidson to enrol it as one of the biggest and the best automotive event in Indian and in Asia.
"We couldn,t have asked for a better opening festival than the 2013 edition of India Bike Week. We,re already planning 2014, so that it becomes even bigger, even better, more bikes, more bands and more of everything. It,s the start of an incredible journey for us and for the Indian Biking Brotherhood. Looking forward to the next 10 Years!," said CEO of 70 EMG, Martin da Costa.
To assure the fest to be the one last vocabulary of bi-wheeling event of India, the India Bike Week was chosen to be celebrated in a 7 acre festival village at Vagator, in Goa. Accompanied by the shadows of music, drinks and moto-maniacs, the program was gone up to the level. The festival accurately registered 6457 crazies and 3000 motor-machines across from the nation in its debut event itself.
26 Live Bands and DJ,s which disclosed seven notes to mind and soul, 3 Concert Stages to chill out through out, numerous amazing customized and ordinary Bikes, 16 Cage Fighters, the Cigar and Whiskey Club and Howling Dog Bar to provide a gradual kick to nerves, Biker Build Off, Flea Markets, 2 Race Tracks, Stunt Zones and the Vintage Bike Concours where stunning Y2K, the fastest bi-wheeler hit yet on road, Bike Polo, Big TripCinema, interesting Michelin Bibendum tweet contest, Bajaj Allianz safety clinic by Joshua Crasto and Mattie Griffin, Route planning advisory.
The spotlight of the day one was the gorgeous performance by the British dub burn, Gentleman's Dub Club. Mourning seven key notes in vivid stretches, the band crew screwed the audience to be in such an entertaining world. Meantime, 600 riders from different countries filled the track of spectators' visialisation. Vintage machines such as, the 1941 Norman, BSA M20 1942 500cc, and the 1933 Paratrooper got paid the attention of hundreds.
The final and the second day of the event was also much commemorating by the stunt performance by an international maniac, Mattie Griffin. Vijay Singh of Rajputana Customs won the award for his extra ordinary talent in chipping out a custom two wheeler.
"The festival is the greatest congregation of bikers in India,s history and has brought together around 6500biking fans under one roof in its first year. We really hope to inspire a new generation of bikers and make India Bike week an annual property for the biker community in India," commented MD of FOX International Channels, Keertan Adyanthaya.
