Why you should opt for a classic car, rather than a flashy car

When you first get enough money together to buy a nice car, many people, particularly those who are young, will usually opt for a flashy one, filled with lots of gadgets. But if you're in this position, you should think twice.

You shouldn't be buying what your favourite rapper is buying, you should be looking for classic model.

Sophistication

There are a lot of differences between men and boys. And if you're young, then I'm assuming you've heard a lot of rumours about what makes you qualify as a man. But most of them are probably not true.

What actually makes you a man and not just a very rich boy, is sophistication.

Boys want to just show off, and make everybody aware of how much money they have, and how loud and flashy their car is.

Classic cars will give you an air of elegance that no amount of gold plating can match.

Increasing Value

If you were to buy the latest Lamborghini, cover it in gold, and get custom made seats... just wait a couple of years.

In just 2 years, the value of that car is going to be lower, and the social status you will get from it will be lower too.

Whilst new cars age like milk, classic cars age like wine.



In a couple of years, your classic car will have increased in value. If you wish to go onto resell it one day, you can make a profit with a classic car, but a loss with a newer car.

Iconography

I want you to close your eyes for a second, and think of some famous cars. I imagine you're thinking of something that James Bond used to drive, the time machine from back to the future, the Batmobile.

Classic cars are more iconic than modern cars, we have their images in our minds, and we think highly of them. Most cars will be forgotten about in 10 years, but there are just a few that only get more powerful within our culture over time.

Respectful

When most people look at a big car, with matt black paint, shiny wheels, loud music, we don't look at them and think "Wow. What a great car. And what a great person".

I tend to think that the owner of that car must be compensating for something. I would be amazed if I'm the only one with this thought.

On the other hand, when someone sees a classic car, they're going to assume that the owner of it has both money AND taste. They'll respect you and not just roll their eyes.
