2014 Honda Jazz (Fit) Revealed

The 2014 Jazz gets placed with a complete makeover.

Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda Motor Company Limited unveiled its much awaited 2014 Jazz (Fit). The pictures say that the car is no more named 'Jazz', but 'Fit". And it is to be confirmed in what name the car will be known as. Whether it will be the 'Jazz', or the 'Fit', or even the 'Jazz Fit'.

Whatever it may be, the all new machine from Honda looks more than amazing. The Japanese designers have done a great job in moulding out the Jazz. Now the car looks extremely sporty. It's a face-lifted stuff on road. The headlight seems inspired from Honda's own premium sedan, the Civic. And it has additional metallic inserts too. The grille gives a mixture of sporty and classic touch. While, the bigger front air-vents attached to the bumber ensures an aggressive look.

To certify a dashing look from side angles, Honda has added a beltline that starts from the front door and ends at the tail-lamps. Turn indicators on wing mirrors are visible and newly designed alloy-wheels put up a classy and a sporty touch to the car. Along with them, tinted glasses are added. The rear portion is the highlight of the car. Looking at the machine from back will surely make us feel to be a premium hatchback. The rear lights, body coloured bumper, bigger air-vents as seen in front, wiper, roof spoiler, and antenna. While, the placement and design of the exhaust may sometimes make us irritated. It is placed just below the rear bumber at the right side. The company could have given a better shape to it.

The 2014 Jazz comes in Hybrid variant, which is powered by Honda's 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle engine and a Sport Hybrid Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive (i-DCD) gearbox. It ensures 35% more mileage than the normal engined machines. However, it's not sure whether the jazz will come up with the same engine to India. It is expected that the Jazz in India will be equipped with the successful machine of Honda, the Jazz's engines. So, we may see the Jazz powered with a 1.5 liter diesel and a 1.2 liter petrol engine in the country.

With the all new Jazz, Honda never wants to continue the disaster that the Jazz made with its unbearable pricing. Though Honda cut the price with a new edition Jazz, the company couldn't wind up with the expected customers. The 2014 Jazz shares the proportions of the discontinued Jazz and shares the platform of the new City. Even though, it has 50mm more wheelbase than the previous Jazz, it will be limited within 4 meters to be free from extra excise duty. So, the 2014 Jazz is likely to be priced either around the previous Jazz or below it. It will be competing with Mahindra Verito Vibe, Maruti Swift, Swift Dzire, VW Polo, and Hyundai i20. The Amaze, that is being the most successful car of Honda in recent times, is priced very competitively and the same is expected in the case of the all new Jazz as well.

The 2014 Jazz will be launched in Spetember, 2013, in Japan. While, it is likely to make its entry in India by the beginning of 2014.
