TVS Motors to bring in TVS Rockz that may change moped market in India

Chennai-based India's two wheeler major TVS Motors is set to bring in new step-through bike (or moped?) named TVS Rockz to add to its Indian product portfolio.

The TVS Rockz has already hit the roads in Indonesia and TVS Motors has been working to bring their good piece to the Indian roads too.

TVS Motors claims that their Rockz bike is going to be one kind of moped that may well change the future of moped market in India.



TVS Rockz has stood and passed all performance tests in the Indonesian market and is all set to unfold the same magic in India as well.

Coming to the looks of the TVS Rockz it does not seem to possess any resemblances to the hitherto mopeds. But one cannot deny the resemblance it has with the Hero Honda Street. With an aerodynamic body that has attractive graphics makes the bike interesting to get a catch of how it looks at least. It will add some spice to the Indian markets for moped riders to choose from. However that said it cannot be for the load carrying people but for metrosexual college goers.



The TVS Rockz definitely scores in terms of design and could be another wonder in the TVS stable. It is expected that the same model that grabbed success in Indonesia will be brought in to India- with a 4-stroke air-cooled one cylinder SOHC engine that displaces about 125cc. The max power generated by the engine will be about 9.8 bhp @ 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 9.8 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm. The ignition place comes with a backlight feature and the tail lamp of the moped is an inspired work taken cues from the Apache RTR and the exhaust somewhat takes after the TVS Flame. Although the moped looks slim it still comes with many features to support and impress a young rider including a utility box, auto start, exciting colors, aerodynamic design and graphics and alloy wheels, etc.
The TVS Rockz comes with auto start and the kick options. The moped comes in color options of black, white, blue and red.

TVS Rockz also comes with ATL or anti-theft lock as well as EKS (engine kill system) to address the safety issues surrounding two-wheeler thefts. Music and youth have become inseparable entities lately so the TVS Rockz will be an irresistible pie especially for the young generation bike riders. The bike comes interestingly loaded with FM radio, an IMS (Integrated Music System) and an MP3 player.

TVS Motors has been respected as a company that hails technological advances and a bike that comes from strong technological backup is expected to gain trust of riders. The TVS Rockz is expected to come with a price tag of Rs. 64,153 (ex-showroom Delhi). With a tagline of 'Take the Lead' the TVS Rockz is going to be a modern moped set to take the lead in the moped market in India in the coming days.
