Now, its almost an year since the Hero Group announced its decision to part ways with Honda Motor Co in their joint venture, Hero Honda Motors. During 2011, the all new Hero MotoCorp managed to sell over six million bikes and scooters, which is a great achievement.
As the current situation at the market looking not so good and Honda's technology available only till 2014, the Hero MotoCorp has got a great task in front, that is to take the company forward in the domestic market as well as establishing an international footprint.
For that, they have already begun doing a lot of external and internal work on developing and acquiring technology. Hero already have capabilities to develop variants and modifications and is trying themselves well to retain their no.1 position.
Now, they are concentrating on developing products in India. This is expected to happen by the year 2015. Even after being solo, within just eight months, Hero acquired a new brand identity among the Indians who are more familiar with the name Hero Honda.
