"With this record performance, we have made a confident beginning to the new year. Our new motorcycle launches like Ignitor and Passion X-Pro are receiving excellent customer response, while growth in our scooters, Pleasure & Maestro, is outpacing the industry growth. The overall two-wheeler industry is again showing good volumes, and we are hopeful of keeping up the momentum," said Mr. Anil Dua, Senior Vice-President of Marketing & Sales of Hero Motocorp.

In the previous year, the consortium had sold out 5,20,272 units of motorcycles in the month of January. Well, this time in Jnauary, 2013, it was raised to a dazing figure of 5,57,979 units. This shows out a growth of 7.21%. It shows the solidifying growth of Hero Motocorp even after the separation from its erst while partner, Honda in 2010.
Hero had launched two commuter motorcycles, the Ignitor and the Passion X-Pro, last year. These two bikes made good responses across India. The Ignitor resembles its right rival Honda's CB Stunner. Meanwhile, the Passion X-Pro is a bit higher version of the much successive model of Hero, the Passion Pro.

In order to maintain the leadership in the Indian two wheeler industry with some good figures of growth, Hero Motocorp had recently started working for its fourth plant, at Neemrana, in Rajasthan. The consortium has already found Rs. 550 crore for 43 acre plant. The plant is expeted to commence functioning by 2014.
"The commencement of work on the new plant is clearly indicative of our intention and strategy for the future. Thanks to overwhelming demand for our products, we have been consistently clocking in excess of five lakh unit monthly sales on an average. We foresee a revival in market sentiments sooner than later, and when it happens, we will be ready to meet the upsurge in demand," commented Pawan Munjal, Managing Director of Hero Motocorp Ltd, while laying the foundation stone.
