About Tetso Motorcycle Club

The Tetso Motorcycle Club, an officially registered and recognized In-Campus Motorcycle Club at Tetso College, Dimapur, Nagaland was conceived and founded by Dr. Aniruddha Babar, an ace Royal Enfielder, a Writer, Academician and Lawyer associated with the Dept. of Political Science of Tetso College. The purpose of Tetso Motorcycle Club whose membership is 'strictly' limited to the students of Tetso College is to become a robust vehicle for a 'Self-Transformation' and also to become a 'Channel' to bring a 'Positive Change' in the society. Learning centres like colleges and universities has always been the centres of 'Free Thinking', 'Development', 'Social-Transformation' and therefore in this broader context the rise of the Tetso Motorcycle Club at Tetso College must be seen. Besides Riding on the Roads to open up and heal the 'Fractured Soul' to discover the 'SELF', the final 'Goal' of Tetso Motorcycle Club' is to create a 'Man Of Tomorrow'.

In the short span of time Tetso Motorcycle Club has made its presence felt in Nagaland and the neighbouring states by its social initiatives, contribution and activism. In the recent past, Tetso Motorcycle Club initiated multiple humanitarian relief missions over the period 2 months during the beginning of Covid-19 pandemic to help and support stranded migrant laborers, women, poor and homeless people. Tetso Motorcycle Club also made educational videos on Covid-19 awareness to encourage people to follow WHO guidelines and also to boost morale of people in the quarantine centres. Tetso motorcycle club also donated large number of refreshments to the inmates of Tetso Covid-19 in-campus Quarantine center, at Tetso Pelo boys hostel. Recently, the members of Tetso Motorcycle Club started a Campaign - 'JUSTICE FOR SUMILA RONGHANGPI' with raising their voice through a video against brutal rape and murder of Sumila Ronghangpi, a 12 Years old Girl-a domestic help; belongs to Karbi Community from Karbi Anglong, Assam.

Moreover, besides regular adventure rides, the Club also organizes Free 'Motorcycle Riding Lessons' for girls and women. The Founder, the executive committee and the members believes that the presence of well trained women riders in the riding community not only breaks the age old male-dominance in the 'Motorcycle Culture' but also challenges the traditions of 'Male-Dominance' in society. Tetso Motorcycle Club believes that by encouraging women to ride a motorcycle and welcoming them to hold the key positions in the club has a positive impact on the 'rigid' and highly 'prejudiced' gender dynamics in society.

Tetso Riders do ride and will continue to ride with a dream and the aim- to make this world a better place for today and the generations to come.
