First Impression Review
The Moto Guzzi V7 II Stone looks like a simple motorcycle, even though it is concealed in a very big cylinder engine. Like all Guzzi bikes, the Stone also has a history to tell. The lines of craft that made the Moto Guzzi V750 a success among riders in 1977 still lives through the V7 II Stone and has all the charismatic characteristics of the Moto Guzzi's of the past, follows the tradition and still inspires riders even to this day.
The design of the V7 Stone has a touch of modern and classic retro feeling to it. The blacked out paint jobs and chrome touch ups add to the visual aesthetics of this motorcycle. Moto Guzzi still retains the classic transversal 90° V-twin configuration and the engine have been updated and is now comprised of more than 70% new components. The engine has been worked many times to improve its fuel efficiency, emissions and engine performance over the years.
The V7 Stone is a real performer and one could to the highways and roadways with confidence. The 744.00 cc 90° V-twin 4-stroke engine produces a maximum power of 47 HP (35 kW) @ 6,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 44 ft-lbs (60 Nm) @ 3,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The V7 Stone uses a Double cradle tubular frame in ALS steel with the detachable rear subframe.
The suspension duties of the bike are performed with Telescopic hydraulic fork with 40 mm stanchions,130 mm wheel travel at the front while the rear suspension comes with a Die-cast light alloy swing arm with 2 preload adjustable shock absorbers. The front brakes come with a 320 mm stainless steel disc, Brembo 4 piston calliper (ABS can be disengaged) while the rear brakes are of 260 mm stainless steel disc, floating 2 piston caliper. The Guzzi V7 II Stone has an overall weight of 189 kg, which is very lightweight compared to the similar motorcycle in its class and this will be an added advantage for riders to handle this motorcycle in all riding conditions.
