Performance
The K 1600 GTL is powered by an Oil-/watercooled 4-stroke inline 6-cylinder engine. The engine is tuned to give good cruising experience. The torque output of this tourer comes very quickly to make the rider swift through any obstacle he may face through the journey and the maximum torque of 175 Nm at 5.250 rpm is balanced by the 118 kW power which kicks in at 7.750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed, helical, gearbox.
The frame of the K 1600 GTL is a Bridge-type frame, cast aluminium, load-bearing engine. The suspension duties of the bike are done with BMW Motorrad Duolever; central spring strut at the front while the rear suspension duties are performed with BMW Motorrad Paralever suspension. The braking system of the bike is done with Dual disc brake, diameter 320 mm, 4-piston fixed calipers at the front while the rear brakes are done with Single disc brake, diameter 320 mm, double-piston caliper. The k 1600 GTL is a considerably big and heavyweight bike and comes at 321 kg.
