The advantages of using a heavy weight crank,
1. Frequency of changing gears is less
2. Can easily chug at less than 20 KMPH in 4th gear
3. Engine revolutions is less thereby throttling less and engine wear and tear reduces
4. Better torque from standstill(Awesome Pulling power can literally be felt on upward slopes)
The current Royal Enfield models with the new aluminum UCE engines have better reliability, more power, mileage and has less maintenance costs, but lacks the thump of old cast iron models. The old cast iron and AVL engines have more maintenance costs, less mileage and less power.
So go for the new Royal Enfield 350cc bike models having the same reliable 346 cc, Air-cooled, Single Cylinder, 4-stroke, Twinspark, Transistorised Coil ignition (TCi), Aluminum UCE engines with 19.8 bhp @ 5250 rpm of power and has 28 Nm @ 4000 rpm of torque with 5-speed gears and gives mileage of around 34 to 42 kmpl depending upon the riding style and conditions and has less maintenance costs and has good resale value.

With a very humble manner i want to ask and will eagerly wait for your answer, that i have a 1977 model bullet and I want to know whether it's a G2 engine or B1 engine or neither of these .
As i came to know , re-introducing it to the British market in 1977 under the name 'Enfield' and This was a period of stagnation for the Bullet, as the Indian owners did not make even basic improvements to the motorcycle, and the quality of parts dropped .
So i want know whether my 1977 model bullet is of poor quality or
a good quality as like 1970 model .
I am waiting for your kind Response

In my personal opinion old engine gives more pleasure while riding both.
I just wana knw is that better than current royal enfield classic or not
1. Is it better to buy 82 -88 model or buy a new model standard bullet (350/500)?
2. If new model then is it better to buy 350 or 500?
3. Can old crank can b replaced with new one in new bullets?
4. I heard in new models if there is any repair in gear box then whole engine gets open up and it gets repaired. Is that good for engine life? And will that sustain as old bullets??
5. Can new model bullets sustain as old models ( with good maintainance )???
6. Coming to old bullets, if old bullet is in good condition and engine is perfectly fit then what will be the maintenance costs (approx.) And for how many kilometres it will go for servicing? As per showroom sources they say new models will go for servicing after 5000 kms..
Can u plz reply to me. I'd any more questions I will post you. Thank u so much.
like mileage and maintanance,
please sir anyone suggest me.
Jerking over 60km pH speed
Not holds equal weight balance to both side
Can't ride smoothly in below 30km pH in 4 or 5 gear
Can't tilt bike while riding over 60 km pH to right side , with applying brake
Don't feel the heavy ground weight support
Rpm is high and vibration so high.
Is it possiblt to increase the crank weight of new RE classic 35?
It's all confusing. If you go for old purchase,go for heavy crank only & if you go for current models...no need to think, 'coz class of both series are different.
I have Bullet 350, 2001 model with heavy crank.Happy riding experience,well maintained,milage of 47 kmspl.
From last 5 years,I convert my machine from petrol to LPG,milage is 75 to 80 kms per 1 kg of LPG.There is not a problem in engine side but oil consumption becomes more, engine getting little more hot and sometimes starting problem.Overall experience for bullet biking is good.

In bullet bike there is an another version that is diesel bullet (TAURAS)..on 1951 onwards Enfield company produced the petrol bullet"s..but the great mechanic"s from Coimbatore area ..thinked and do ...the way for using diesel bullets...they took down the Enfield petrol engines in bullet frame nd mounted the Greaves lambordini diesel engine...with 5,6.5,7.5 HP..the diesel engines are in made in Aurangabad & Ranipet..

This is the same G2 engine with slight difference of Bearings i.e roller to cage Bearings.
The crank weight is also 2 kgs down, else the feel is the same. Chugging at low speed is the specialty of heavy crank bullets.
You get the awesome ride experience in Heavy cranks model with the best Sound ever..
You cannot ride it like the new bikes now in town.
I have a 1973 B1 engine and a 2009 model bullet.
Both are awesome..
It runs smoothly in fourth gear but only at 45 km/hr. Does that indicate it's a 7 -8kg crank bike? I want to switch to a heavy crank. What must be the ideal weight of a heavy crank to chug along at low rpms at speeds less than 30km/hr
heavy Crank:
Very enjoyable to ride.
No Jerk
Climbing is more fun
Light Crank:
Little better pick Up
May be little better mileage about 1 to 1.5km/l due to less weight
You can fix the heavy crank to other std models. Provided you do sleeving and fix 2 pairs of needle bearings inside the crank case to hold the weight. Also reduce the front spocket tooth to the older version whern u had mostly 15 teeth front spocket. Its very fun to ride.
All the best.::
Nd what is the problem if my eng is making sound nd consuming much eng oil
And i want to mod everything from engine to coloring so plz suggest me what to do what not to do
As per my knowledge I did see Crank weight till 10kg+ ... Every one says 14kg and more i don't think that's true... but You can still buy heavy Crank from Enfield India for CI engine weight around 10kg.. cost is about 14k it's available
There are so many queries that its difficult to answer all. I have a 1970 model Bullet (Heavy Crank). Just giving broad inputs. First decide what you are looking for, mileage, or riding pleasure. If mileage, then go for light crank newer models. If riding pleasure, then go for heavy crank, upto 1980 or after 2009. Modifying your bike from light to heavy crank is NOT recommended. Changing the crank affects the balance and functioning of the entire engine and the transmission chain, ie, clutch and gear box. Heavy crank requires bigger engine bearings, so bearing housings have to be machined. Local lathe machines and operators are not as accurate as required, hence engine life and performance are impacted.
