I am having Bajaj Discover DTS Si , only six month old and has run 2000 kms , I am getting mileage of only 35 kmpl . Is there any problem with the engine or the Eng - Carb setting , How to do the setting ?

For Bajaj Discover the mileage should be more than 60 I would say. You need to cut down the usage of clutch to a greater extent, use it only for changing gear for seconds only..also you can ask ur service guy to adjust ur carb for lean mixture after the next service..while starting in the morning let the engine warm up a bit before roaring high..hope it would help..

Hi, Bajaj Discover 100 DTS-Si has mileage of around 76 to 85 kmpl. But you can expect that mileage only after the fourth servicing only. Since your bike has covered 2000 kms the mileage should be around 60 to 70 kmpl. So there is a serious problem regarding the bikes carburetor or engine tuning. So soon visit your nearest Bajaj authorised service center for engine and carburetor tuning. Don't try to do it your own because its only six month old bike.
There are plenty of tips to maintain good mileage, always use clean and efficient spark plugs, tune the engine and carburetor, right gear shifts at the right RPM, always keep speed around 60km maximum, avoid unnecessary brakes and hard acceleration, maintain the right tyre pressure and chain settings, always warm up the engine for two minutes every day before riding and always use high quality engine oil and petrol.
