Polaris launched ATV range vehicles in India

US based leading off-road vehicle manufacturer Polaris enters India with its ATVs, Polaris Ranger RZR Side by Side vehicles and Snowmobiles.

Polaris' off-road automobiles are quite popular as very capable and comfortable vehicles.

Established in 1954 and operating in over 100 countries now Polaris Industries Inc goes aggressive to capture global market share for the off-road vehicles. In US they boast biggest share and they have obviously eyed the emerging markets like India.

Soon they have come to India with Polaris India Pvt Ltd which will be wholly-owned subsidiary of the US' Polaris Industries Inc and launched adventure vehicles to kick start their off-road vehicle revolution in India.



Polaris India Pvt Ltd will be based in New Delhi and currently operate with 10 dealerships in India. The bookings for their ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) and ORVs (Off-road Vehicles) and Snowmobiles have already begun and the company says they will deliver the first batch from the month of September.

Polaris sells its vehicles as Completely Built Units (CBUs), and if the demand from the Indian market prompts Polaris may consider building vehicles in India itself.

So who booked Polaris' first Snowmobile? It's the Indian Defense Forces.

The ATVs (sportsman range) come with engines 455cc - 850cc displacement and designed for one or two people (depending on the model).

Additionally, all the vehicles from Polaris have Active Decent Control feature to maintain traction for the four wheels during downhill on a gradient. Then Engine Braking System (EBS) comes as a standard feature facilitating easy slow down of the vehicle.



The Polaris Ranger comes with 455cc engine and as well as can be fit with 760cc motor and can seat from two to six people and comes with Electronic Power Steering (EPS) and Versitrac Turf rear differential feature to boost the power of rear wheels. The premium end Ranger is RZR XP and is one very capable off-roader so good to drive. Additionally Ranger series come with cargo box at the rear to carry load and has towing capacity of up to one ton.

The Polaris ORVs start from Rs. 240,000 and go up to 2,000,000 and come with petrol, diesel and electric motors.
