Harley Davidson FatBoy Special launched in India

American iconic and luxury bike maker Harley Davidson has unveiled the HD FatBoy Special (new variant of the FatBoy) in India.

The HD FatBoy Special edition bike agreeably comes with a very fat price tag of Rs. 1,970,000 (Delhi ex-showroom price).

The 1000 cc cars and the 100 cc bikes will soon be some laughing stock looking at the pace of increasing demand for the high-end bikes and cars in India.

According to the company statement the Harley Davidson FatBoy Special will be an imported unit (completely built in bike) and available with all the HD dealers in India.

The Harley Davidson FatBoy Special will be a style-improved version of the FatBoy and will add to the already existing fleet of 14 HD models that are lined up for sale in 2011.

The company said launch of HD Fat Boy is accordance to the company's strategy of coming up with new models as well as beginning of full-fledged unit/s for knockdown assembly in the sub-continent.



The FatBoy runs on an electronic sequential port fuel injection (ESPFI) V Twin engine unit which generates a peak torque of 125 nm @ 3500 rpm; implying cruising smooth and fast even at lower revs; this makes FatBoy Special really special. Furthermore the 6-speed cruise-drive trany with new helical-cut fifth gear ensures smoother cruising. The super low seat makes it a head turner and an owner's pride bike in the town.

Harley Davidson India has tied up with HDFC Bank to offer financial assistance and help realize dream of buying HD bike.
