Hero Honda will henceforth be Hero MotoCorp

On Friday, July 29, 2011 the Registrar of Companies (RoC) has given approval for name change of Hero Honda to Hero MotoCorp. The name change has come into picture because of separation of Hero with its Japanese JV collaborate Honda Motor in December 2010.



The board of Hero Honda finalized the name during their meeting last month in HP. They then sought the grant of approval for the change of name by the RoC. It is already known that the world's largest 2-wheeler major will reveal its new brand identity on August 9, 2011 in London.



Hero MotoCorp name will come with immediate effect, i.e., Friday, said a statement from the company.

Pawan Munjal the MD and CEO of Hero MotoCorp was quoted saying, "The change in name marks the beginning of a new era of innovations; be it in the field of technology and product development or customer satisfaction and expanding our footprint across global markets."
